About the Show
Frame-up strip dance is one of the most exciting and least-documented dance styles emerging right now. It combines precise floorwork, deep musicality, and performance on platform heels, called strips, into something completely its own. The global community is growing fast, but almost everything about it lives in Russian, in closed Instagram circles, or in the heads of the teachers themselves.
I started Strip Journey exists change that.
Each episode is a conversation with a frame-up dancer, teacher, or choreographer from somewhere in the world: Russia, Czech Republic, Argentina, the UK, Poland, and beyond. We talk about how they found the style, how they teach it, what it means to them, and where they think it's going. Over 2 years, Strip Journey has become the only English-language podcast dedicated entirely to frame-up strip dance.
Apart from it being a podcast, Strip Journey wants to serve as a discovery place for teachers and events with Strip Map being the only place with a comprehensive overview on where to find classes and events. Want to get on the map? Click the Get on the map! and fill in your details.
About the host
I'm Morana, a dancer based in Copenhagen, Denmark. I came to frame-up a few years ago and immediately noticed the gap, a vibrant, international community with almost no English-language resources. So I started interviewing the people who know it best.
I'm joined by Ana, who designs the artwork for every episode.
If you're a pole dancer curious about frame-up, a heel dancer looking for your next obsession, or already deep in the style and want to hear from the people shaping it - this podcast is for you. Welcome. Let's go on a journey.
